What do you do when you come across a word and you’re not sure what it means? Some people take the old fashion approach and take out the dictionary and look that word up – just like grandma used to do because she did not have access to the internet. Other people take the new school approach and just Google that word – or they use another search engine to look it up on the web.

Fanix Software, via the As-U-Read application, offers another innovative way to look up a word. This application makes every word you see on the desktop clickable – when you click a word (Ctrl + right click), you are provided with that word’s definition. To be more precise, a small tooltip-like box will show up; the box contains details on what that word means.

Download – the download weighs in at 4.8, so it should take little time for the download to complete.
Supported OS – at the time of writing this and according to the developer, As-U-Read provides support for the following versions of the Microsoft-developed Windows operating system: Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows 2003, and Windows XP.
Limitations – As-U-Read is not freeware, it is only free to try. This means you can use the application free of charge for a trial period of 30 days. Once that trial period is over, you will have to get a license to keep using the application.
